Samsung Galaxy S3 Key Lime Pie Update: What’s The Word

03 Sep

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is now a year old however we have already seen the Samsung Galaxy S4 announced. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is on store shelves and the reign of the S3 as the current flagship for Samsung will come to a quiet end.

However that doesn’t mean the Samsung Galaxy S3 isn’t a great device. In fact, a recent comparison we did to find out which was the best phone on the market – the Samsung Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, LG Nexus 4, Nokia Lumia 920, HTC One X and Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD, found the Galaxy S3 ultimately come out as the winner. And its biggest flaw in the comparison was just one major thing – its uninspiring design. This of course isn’t something the Samsung Galaxy S4 can take away from it because let’s face it, they look almost identical.

However if you are wondering whether you should make the upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S4 or other new smartphones this year, just remember that the Samsung Galaxy S3 has some surprises headed its way. The biggest is a recent leak which put the Samsung Galaxy S3 at the top of the list for the rumored Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie update which is expected to be announced in the summer. It is right up there with the S4 in this respect.

You also have to remember that the popular custom ROM community CyanogenMod recently shun the Galaxy S4 and pledged to continue supporting the Galaxy S3 for sometime to come. So even if it takes Samsung a while to get the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie update out, you can bet the developer at CM will be cooking up custom ROMs for the Galaxy S3 as fast as they can.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is still a powerful smartphone and with murmurs of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie headed its way, it will continue to be a popular choice for some time to come.
